The rock´n´popmuseum is now represented on Google Arts & Culture as well!
Google’s Arts & Culture app gives people the opportunity to visit museums and exhibitions all over the world in a virtual fashion. They can discover exhibits and also get interesting background information.
In three virtual exhibitions, the rock´n´popmuseum provides insights into its permanent exhibition and its depot, and introduces the legendary Can Studio.
In an expedition through the permanent exhibition, selected exhibits from the various thematic displays are showcased, and interesting background information provided. In addition, insights into the depot are provided and exhibits are shown that are usually hidden from visitors.
Another highlight is a reappraisal of the history of the legendary Can Studio, which has been on display in the rock´n´popmuseum’s spaces since 2007. Historical picture, sound and video recordings present the history surrounding this avant-garde band’s musical output and its studio. The Can Studio virtual exhibition is embedded in the international project Music, Makers and Machines, in which more than 50 institutions from 15 countries have created stories about electronic music that illuminate the special connection between technology and music.
